iPhone 11 does the 'trick' for Apple in India

Apple a majority of buyers in India seems to be doing. According to the latest report by Counterpoint Research, Apple has emerged as the leader in the ultra-premium segment in India. Smartphones above RS 45,000 are part of this ultra-premium segment where iPhones. The other big players in this segment are mainly Samsung and OnePlus.

Counterpoint pegs it done to the success of the iPhone 11. The report states, "Apple grew a strong 78% driven by strong shipments of iPhone 11 and multiple discounts on platforms like Flipkart and Amazon." In the past, the iPhone 11 has helped the Cupertino-based tech ain't to consolidate its position.

While Apple has emerged the leader in the ultra-premium segment, it will now look at cracking another one with the launch of the iPhone SE. The iPhone SE starts at RS 42,500 and goes up till RS 58,000, which is as much as the iPhone XR. With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown in place, the sale and availability date of the iPhone SE is still not known.

However, at this price point, the iPhone SE may as well prove too strong a lure for many who want to get in the Apple ecosystem.
