Apple AirPods are India’s 'favorite' true wireless headphones
Apple AirPods are among the biggest success stories of the year 2019. The AirPods not only ruled the True Wireless Stereo (TWS) headphones category for the year but, also made along the beeline of similar products from competitors in India. AirPods seem to be selling well and leading the TWS category
as per a report.
As per the latest report from Counterpoint Research, Apple captured the maximum chunk of the Indian hearables market with a 27% market share in 2019. The report claims that the Cupertino-based tech giant could dominate the Indian market. Due to “…factors like its reputation as a pioneer, noise-cancellation feature, easy integration with Apple devices and quick charging…”
Apple is followed by Noise, JBL, Samsung, and Realme in the same order. These five make for the five highest-selling brands in the TWS category in the country. Their market share stands at 12%, 8%,7% respectively.
As per the report, the most-impressive growth has been made by Realme Buds Air The China-based Realme launched AirPods- lookalike Realme Buds released in December 2019. "Similar form-factor to Apple’s AirPods, good-enough sound quality and features such as low-latency gaming mode, at an affordable price point, raised by overall value proposition," says the report.
Giving an overall insight into the market of truly wireless headphones in India, the Counterpoint Research claims that the market witnessed a 700% growth during the year 2019, making it the fastest-growing market in the wearables category.
